Jewish people have worked in a wide variety of occupations since arriving in Britain, and in St Albans. The first wave of Jewish St Albans residents primarily worked as tailors or in retail.

Today community members work or volunteer in all areas of society, including education, law, healthcare, social work, public service and the arts.
